Penitentiary system of the Czech Republic - presence and future

The diploma thesis deals with the penitentiary system of the Czech Republic. It contains a brief excursion into the past of the Czech penitentiary system, i.e. the history of punishment in our territory. Attention is paid to the present penitentiary system of the Czech Republic, legislative development, problematic legal regulation, its impact on practice, as well as to the view to the future (within the frame of the new Czech penitentiary system conception). The diploma thesis represents the functioning of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic, its tasks and aims. The last chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to the future of the Czech penitentiary system, especially to changes in the external differentiation of prisons. The practical part of the thesis is a qualitative research survey (structured interviews with employees of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic). It maps the attitude of Prison Service employees to the existing penitentiary system and to legislative adjustments effective from October 2017. Issues of further professional eduzation of employees of the Prison service of the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of further professional education of professional employees working in the Prison Service of the Czech Republic (VS ČR) and the possibilities of its development. The aim of the diploma thesis is to conceptualize and characterize further vocational education, with emphasis on the analysis and identification of educational needs and motivation of professionals to continue their education. Furthermore, to carry out research aimed at monitoring the use of methods and forms of education and development of employees. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis deals with the definition and relationship of basic concepts in the field of further education, systematic education, analysis of educational needs, organizational structure of VS ČR, description of selected aspects of further vocational education in the context of lifelong learning. Attention is paid to the system of education, structure and identification of educational needs in the field of public administration in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, a description of the model of the concept of management of further education of VS ČR employees is implemented. Drug use among emloyees of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic

RESOURCES: The work of the Prison Service is associated with a higher rate of the frustration tolerance, increased stress, resilience and awareness. The prison environment carries with it very demanding working conditions, shift work and contact with human suffering and/or death. These risks that accompany the work of helping professions within prison facilities may lead to using of addictive substances by facilities' employees. Thus, a hypothesis was formed, among others based on the personal experience of the author of the work, that these employees use addictive substances. To this time, no other research was performed within the environment of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic that would aim on using of addictive substances among the professional staff coming into contact with an imprisoned person. OBJECTIVES: The main objective of this thesis is to determine the level of alcohol and nicotine dependance among professional staff of Czech prison facilities. METHODS: The study is performed in a quantitative form via standardized questionnaires: the AUDIT test and Fagerström Test of Nicotine Dependence. Ethical issues in the profession - Prison service of the Czech Republic

The main aim of this Bachelor´s Thesis is to investigate the level of awereness of ethics of the prison officers. I focused on the observance or violation of ethic norms and what kind of ethic dilemmas arise during the day-to-day service in the prisions. How the individual prision officers are coping with the dilemmas and how are affected by them in both private and professional life. In the thesis the method of so-called in-depth interview is used and five subjects (prison officers) were interviewed anonymously. I interviewed them with the use of predefined questions. Based upon the five in-depth interviews I formulated a list of crucial points of similarities and differencies in respect to the answers of the subjects. At the end of this thesis I commented on the dissimilarity of the opinions of the subjects and I suggested what could be improved in the Prison Service of the Czech Republic regarding the work of the prison officers. In the first appendix the levels of moral ity according to Kohlberg are explained. In the second appendix there is a list of international documents regulating the Prison Service of the Czech Republic. The thesis contains two appendixes.

Prison Service in the Czech republic and treatment with prisoners by ethical perspective

Primární prevence agresivního chování v penitenciárním terénu středního odborného školství

The bachelor thesis deals with the occurrence of aggressive behaviour among pupils and primary prevention of this behaviour in the penitentiary field of vocational education. The aim of theoretical part is to outline the state of secondary education for people in prison and the state system of prevention of risky behaviours including aggressive behaviour in schools in the penitentiary environment. Another aim of theoretical part is to define aggressive behaviour and concepts associated with it, divide the species, determine the cause and describe the signs of this behaviour, characterizing traits and types of aggressor and victim, put the most-frequent aggressive behaviour of people in the penitentiary environment, and preventing such behaviour laid down by law Czech Republic. Another aim of theoretical part is to describe the prevention and its species, to introduce the system of primary prevention in high schools, mostly as school prevention methodist and implementation of minimum prevention program, to determine the capabilities and activities of primary prevention of aggressive behaviour in high schools in the state prison environment and the behaviour of pupils on school premises. Data collection was secured by studying literature, Czech legislation, electron-ic documents and web posts on the tackle. For processing the theoretical part was used for the analysis of resources, formation of the notes, comparison, synthesis and deduction of acquired data. The aim of practical part was to determine if pupils are able to describe the penitentiary environment aggressive behaviour and his speeches, if among pupils in school premises occur aggressive behaviour, if pupils from high schools in pris-on environment are advised about behaviour and obligations in school premises and whether programs focused to development of life skills are used in the primary prevention of aggressive behaviour in such an environment. Collecting data in exploratory investigation was secured by interviewing, us-ing techniques - questionnaire. Respondents were pupils Jiřice Vocational School, which is located in the prison Jiřice and provides secondary education for adults convicted men. The data were interpreted in tables of frequency and create pie charts. The results were described in the discussion by induction.
